Breno Costa
I’ve worked at top creative agencies across Latin America, developing campaigns for brands like Sprite, Coca-Cola, Doritos, Lay’s, Netflix, Ballantine’s, Telemundo, and Gatorade. My work has appeared in major industry publications and has earned over 80 awards at leading festivals including the Effies, Clios, and Cannes Lions.
Below are some highlights of my creative achievements:
As a student, I created “The Matchbox Calendar” for a toy car brand, inspired by the Pirelli Calendar but with naked Barbies, an idea that went viral worldwide and ended up mentioned on Italian prime-time TV and on the cover of the Italian LGBTQ+ Pride magazine.
As a professional, I turned the annoying microwave beep into music with “The Musical Microwave,” helping launch a new product, an idea selected as Best Idea of the Year by AdAge Creativity.
I also helped professional women football players get a second job on Telemundo’s broadcast to spotlight inequality in the sport with “The Second Job” campaign, contributing to the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup becoming the most-watched event in the channel’s history.
I used real Google search data to show Gen Z that others are going through the same struggles in the “You Are Not Alone” campaign for Sprite, and used Reddit forums to connect teens and let them share their experiences.
I made people confront their online avatars in the “Me and My Other Me” experiment, making it the most-watched content in Ballantine’s history.
I helped send top ’80s pop artists to perform in the “Live from the Upside Down” concert, watched by thousands of people.
I got the Demogorgon to fight in a ring against El Santo, the biggest Mexican hero, in “Demogorgon vs. El Santo,” a Lucha Libre event broadcast on TV and online, which became the most-watched PepsiCo Mexico content ever.
Plus many others.
Together with my partner, I was recognized as Creative Team of the Year 2019 by the Argentine Creative Circle.
My work helped make Slap Global Agency of the Year at the Effie Awards in 2021 and 2022.
As an illustrator and storyteller, I published the graphic novel “Icarus’s Dream.”
And as a father, I managed to have two lovely children and a furry, fat cat.
